We have many talented (and very interesting) people working at Icomm. So much so, that we have decided to write a blog series called ‘Inside Icomm: Meet the Team’. First off the bat is Georgia. Say hello to Georgia Engel, Training and Adoption Specialist & Water Polo Extraordinaire.
Who are you, and what do you do at IComm?
I’m Georgia, I’m a Training and Adoption Specialist, so I plan and complete user training, and work with our customers to deliver change management strategies
How long have you been here now?
Closing in on 2 years
What was your first job?
I worked at Video Ezy, the dream job of so many edgy teenagers! Wouldn’t have left if it didn’t close down with the rest of them.
If you could switch roles with one other IComm employee for the day, who would it be and why?
I reckon it would be fun to swap roles with Annastasia, I love gossip and she always seems to know everything that’s going on, maybe I would be more in the loop from her vantage point?
What’s the most unique hobby/skill/talent you have outside of work?
I play water polo for the Sydney Stingers, it’s definitely the hardest sport I’ve ever played but that makes it more rewarding
If you were trying to really impress us, what would you cook for dinner?
I’d go for a classic Bolognese, maybe switch it up with some rigatoni. My red sauce has the Italian seal of approval from my partner, so I reckon it’s got to be my most impressive dish.
Do you have a ‘can’t live without it’ piece of tech?
I probably have hundreds but one example is my collection of smart lights, I love being able to turn off all the lights from the other room when I’m going to bed, have a simulated sunrise in the morning and I have timers set up to save myself from sitting in the dark. Who needs a light switch!
What is the most random bit of trivia you know?
The highest score you can get for an opening move in Scrabble is 128 points with the word MUZJIKS – a Russian word for peasants.
