The Problem:
The RACGP, Australia’s largest professional general practice organisation, has 450 staff, some working remote and almost 300 working from the organisation’s East Melbourne office. The organisation previously worked in a mixed state consisting of a PABX system at East Melbourne and interstate offices on Microsoft Lync, which led to restricted communications amongst staff.
The Solution:
RACGP looked to undertake a project to uplift Lync to the new Microsoft UC release, Skype for Business, and complete the Unified communications rollout to the remaining RACGP East Melbourne staff. With the upgrade project, RACGP wanted a communications platform that supported collaboration across all staff and business communications including messaging, email, telephony, and also in their meeting rooms and video conferencing, as well as call centre.
The Result:
RACGP has achieved its key goals in upgrading to Skype for Business. These included improving its technology base, replacing a phone system approaching end of life, providing readiness for migration to the cloud, accelerating collaboration and decision making, increasing access to experts and resources, maximising the ROI of the existing investment in Microsoft Lync, as well as achieving system reliability and business continuity.
